In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle requires:
- To hire a vehicle in Maesteg, you must be at least 21 years old, though specific age restrictions may apply based on the vehicle type, with potential extra charges for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence, meeting the minimum duration specified in the Rental Agreement, is required. You will need to present valid identification and proof of your current address, along with payment details and a security deposit. Additional requirements may be outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by phone, or directly at our Maesteg office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is essential to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and additional charges may apply. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as received; refueling fees will be applied if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may incur extra charges, so please notify us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges that arise during the rental period, along with an administrative fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Comprehensive details regarding coverage and excess amounts can be found in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to lessen your financial risk. It is important to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you have opted for extra insurance. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violations of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of your insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and how much notice you provide. Please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for precise information. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- Any unlawful activities or purposes are strictly prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or other potentially dangerous maneuvers. Transporting hazardous materials or substances is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, using the vehicle for purposes it was not intended for, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and driving outside the designated geographical area without prior consent are all violations of our policy.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Maesteg will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the total amount paid for the rental in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liabilities arising from negligence leading to death or personal injury, or from fraudulent actions.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts in this jurisdiction.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updates take effect immediately upon being posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
